SmackDown superstar LA Knight has risen in prominence over the course of the past year. In fact, he came face-to-face with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, for the first time on SmackDown this week. Despite not yet winning a championship in his WWE run, Knight never looked out of place while standing in the same ring as the Tribal Chief. The newly formed rivalry continued during this weekend’s house show in Kansas.
The Tribal Chief competed for the first time since SummerSlam, defeating Sami Zayn for his championship. Afterwards, LA Knight came out and delivered a BFT to Roman Reigns. Furthermore, he delivered a promo on the veteran, which led to the latter walking away in disgust. The Megastar vowed to conquer the Undisputed Champion as he said, “You will call me Champ…you will even call me Chief and you will know who’s game it is with everybody saying..”
As expected, this was followed by the live audience screaming LA Knight’s name. Evidently, the former Shield member was livid with the crowd reaction, uttering something to The Wise Man, Paul Heyman, before leaving. Knight completely tore him apart with his words. As a result, it led the enraged Champion to walk away backstage in pure disgust.
It seems that Roman Reigns’ frustrations grew even more following their showdown on SmackDown. During their first face-off, Knight held his own and berated him. Moreover, Roman Reigns didn’t appreciate how much the 40-year-old has become popular with the WWE Universe.
At the moment, it seems that the pair will most likely square off at Crown Jewel. The WWE Universe has been clamoring to see LA Knight in the main event picture for a long time. It looks like WWE has finally heard the voices of the fans. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the feud plays out in the coming weeks.
Sami Zayn puts over LA Knight during house show in Kansas
Sami Zayn is currently one of the most well-liked superstars in the WWE. Without a doubt, his rise was helped by his storyline with The Bloodline. Recently, LA Knight has emerged as arguably the #1 contender for Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Therefore, Zayn heaped praise on The Megastar during a house show in Kansas.
After LA Knight saved the former Honorary Uce from an attack, the latter addressed Knight. According to Sami Zayn, the 40-year-old will be the one to finally dethrone the Tribal Chief. “I say this humbly, as a guy who owned the moment for a minute there. This moment belongs to you, YEAH!” he said.
Furthermore, Sami Zayn went on to copy LA Knight’s promo, hilariously revealing that he always wanted to do it. Clearly, the former Undisputed Tag Team Champion, like many fans, is a firm believer in The Megastar. Needless to say, fans are heavily anticipating the bout between him and Roman Reigns.
