2019 was arguably one of the worst years for WWE. Many fans were unhappy and often complained about not liking the program that year. Many forgettable moments will remain as dark memories in fans’ minds. Nonetheless, if there is one moment that stands out as one of the worst during that time, it’s the feud between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin.

Even though he was a babyface, Roman was one of the most hated guys in the WWE at the time, and Corbin was naturally a heel, so nobody gave importance to this feud.

During this rivalry, one of the most disgusting segments took place, where The Big Dog was hand-tied and Baron Corbin and his friend Dolph Ziggler fed him dog food. It was just an unbearable segment to watch for the fans.

Wrestle Features shared this moment on social media, and fans expressed their disappointment with the segment. For context, this moment took place in a SmackDown episode four years ago.

If that segment was not enough, WWE relieved that segment one more time, but the roles were reversed. This time Corbin was hand-tied, and Reigns and the Usos fed him dog food. They had some notable matches on Pay-Per-View, like TLC, where Roman came out victorious to end this rivalry.

Four years later, their career graph is totally in the opposite direction. Roman Reigns is the biggest superstar of the company right now and Corbin is still finding his footing in NXT.

He will challenge Ilja Dragunov on the NXT Deadline PLE this Saturday. It will be interesting to see whether Corbin wins the title and builds his legacy, or if he will have to wait for his moment again.

When Wrestle Features shared the video clip of the segment, many fans did not want to witness that again. While some said WWE in 2019 was unwatchable because of these segments, other fans didn’t like the whole rivalry between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin because they did not want to cheer for either of them.

Some fans even said that this was the absolute lowest point of Roman’s career, as he was getting hated by the crowd, and his story was going nowhere at that point.

The majority of the fans said that this was the worst time to watch WWE, with no storylines and no proper booking of future stars. On top of that, Corbin, who was in the segment, commented under the tweet and said:

That legit made me vomit. It smelt so so bad.

It was clear that the fans and somewhere even the WWE superstars were not happy with how the program was going.

Fast forward four years later, WWE is going through one of the best periods of its history right now. Big returns, a great crop of new talents, and fantastic matches have restored the trust and interest of the fans in the product. 

Now that bigger stars like CM Punk and Randy Orton returned to Survivor Series, it will be interesting to see what the new year has in store for the fans.
