This week’s episode of SmackDown has accelerated the storylines for the feuds ahead of WrestleMania. However, the direction of the former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey still remains a little obscure as of yet. Rousey was supposed to participate in a tag team match with Shayna Baszler this week. However, WWE called off the match as The Rowdy One sustained an injury in a brawl backstage.

Ronda Rousey was set to clash in a tag team division match in this week’s edition of SmackDown. However, in a backstage segment, the WWE Universe saw Ronda Rousey severely injured during a brawl with Tegan Nox. As a result, Rousey couldn’t participate in the tag team match set for SmackDown. Later in the night, Shayna Baszler fought Nox in a singles match and decimated her. However, the Rowdy One broke her silence in a post after sustaining her injury in SmackDown.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion posted a video on her Instagram handle of Baszler targeting Tegan Nox’s arm. Under the post, she wrote a caption saying, “Arm for an arm, Skittles @nixonnewell. How’d that canvas taste?” However, the WWE Universe is concerned about her medical condition after her injury in SmackDown. Besides, many fans believe this could be a storyline angle for Ronda.

According to Wade Keller of PW Torch, Ronda Rousey has aggravated a prior injury. As a result, she is not expected to infringe on her availability to wrestle at WrestleMania. Therefore, WWE showed the injury angle just to keep the former MMA star out of the tag team match on SmackDown. Moreover, the company wants her to recover before their biggest night of the year. However, Rousey’s injury looks nothing major, and there are high chances that she will recover well in time.

The rumours suggest that Ronda Rousey will battle for the tag team championships in the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, her road to WrestleMania still looks obscure. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what direction WWE heads in for the former SmackDown Women’s Champion going into WrestleMania 39.

According to reports, Rousey and the Queen of Spades will have a program for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39.
