The match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn was a roller coaster of emotions for the fans. They put on a fantastic show for the crowd in Montreal. Around 17,000 fans were cheering for their hometown hero. Sami Zayn received one of the loudest pops during his entrance in Montreal. However, the match ended on a losing note for Zayn. During a post-show press conference, Zayn described his mixed feelings about the whole situation.

Sami Zayn faced Roman Reigns in perhaps one of the biggest matches of his career. In the post-show press conference, he described it as a “dream come true” for him to headline a Premium Live Event in his hometown of Montreal. However, the 38-year-old expressed his disappointment and said that he failed to deliver a fairytale ending to the fans. He added that it’s like suddenly waking up from a beautiful dream before reaching a happy ending. However, Zayn said that despite the outcome, he’s elated to receive a grand welcome in Montreal. Therefore, Zayn described it as a strange feeling that is hard to put into words. “I’m feeling very strange, and I can’t put my finger on it. It was kind of an unhappy ending tonight. […] It was like a dream; it was surreal; it was everything you could ever want,” he said. Besides, the crowd has been energetic throughout the match, chanting “Ole” and “Fu*k You, Roman.” They had been on a roller coaster of emotions.

However, Sami Zayn gave everything he had in the match. The crowd saw a sunset flip powerbomb, clothesline, blue thunderbomb, exploder, and helluva kick from the former Intercontinental Champion. But, unfortunately, he fell short. The atmosphere in the Bell Center turned to pin-drop silence with the three-count from the referee. Furthermore, the former NXT star mentioned that he felt quite sad looking at the faces of the fans after his defeat.

The WWE Universe showed tremendous support for Sami Zayn and was rooting for him to dethrone the Tribal Chief. But they didn’t get what they expected. However, the storyline revolving around The Bloodline has been very appealing to fans in recent months. Hence, it would be interesting to see what’s in store for the Canadian superstar ahead of WrestleMania 39.

One of the surprising moments came in the Elimination Chamber when the crowd saw the return of their other hometown hero, Kevin Owens. He came to the rescue of Sami Zayn when the latter was attacked by Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso after the match. As a result, the fans in Montreal gave a massive pop to Owens’ return. Therefore, the ending segment was a clear indication that the WWE Universe might see the reunion of the two best friends once again.

It looks like Owens and Zayn still have some unfinished business with The Bloodline. The ending segment was an augury of that. As a result, it might manifest in a tag-team rivalry between them. Moreover, according to the rumors, the two of them might face The Usos at the Showcase of the Immortals for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships.

As a result, fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the saga of The Bloodline, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens. The hype for WrestleMania has begun, and it will be exciting to tune into the upcoming episodes of Raw and SmackDown.
