Over the years, WWE has conducted multiple shows in Saudi Arabia. The company has been organizing its magnificent shows at a stadium-sized level. However, WWE superstar Sami Zayn has been suspended from being a part of it because of his Syrian heritage and security concerns. It appears that Zayn will now be able to compete in the WWE’s shows in Saudi Arabia.
On the recent episode of SmackDown, WWE surprised the fans with an unexpected match for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships. Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will battle Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at Night of Champions. As a result, the announcement gave rise to numerous speculations about Zayn.
Despite WWE having a good relationship with Saudi Arabia, the latter didn’t allow Syrian superstars to wrestle in its country. According to reports, both countries agreed to rebuild their diplomatic ties after Syria was admitted to the Arab League. As a result of this, Sami Zayn can compete in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a high-profile match.
Syria and Saudi Arabia’s ties were suspended in 2011 following Saudi’s backing of government forces in the Syrian Civil War. Despite of non-ties, Zayn had been a part of WWE’s live shows in Saudi Arabia post-2011. However, those shows were on a much smaller scale. It looks like things have started to take a positive direction.
Sami Zayn admired by John Cena

Over the last year, the WWE Universe has appreciated Sami Zayn’s character work in the storyline with The Bloodline. Zayn emerged as a fan favorite and was the most buzzworthy performer in WWE. He displayed his charismatic skills with storytelling, leaving the fans in awe.
During an appearance on Whiskey Ginger with Andrew Santino, John Cena praised Sami Zayn for his performance. Cena complimented the WWE star by saying, “I gotta give Sami his comeuppance. He’s a guy who’s been in the business a long time and worked really hard in circuits outside the WWE and made a great name for himself”
Sami Zayn has now split his ways from The Bloodline, turning a babyface while betraying Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2023. Zayn received the pop of his career when he defeated The Usos for the Undisputed Tag Titles at WrestleMania 39. Without a doubt, he has emerged as a prominent star in recent times.
