WrestleMania is approaching, and the main event for the biggest show of the year has been confirmed. Despite many fans craving for it to be a triple threat, WWE has stuck to its guns by pushing Cody Rhodes as the sole challenger for Roman Reigns’ Undisputed title. However, fans are still behind Sami Zayn and want him to get his moment at WrestleMania as well.

While talking about the recent Cody Rhodes-Paul Heyman promo on Raw, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio revealed the reason behind the structure of the segment. He said, “The stuff with Cody and Heyman – they (WWE) were very concerned about Sami chants, which is one of the reasons why they got Heyman out there in seconds. They did not want Cody in there by himself because they thought that – it didn’t happen – but they did everything in their power to make sure they kept that moving, they did not allow the audience a chance to start chanting or anything like that, it was just back-and-forth.”

WWE doesn’t want the fans to chant Sami’s name during the segments involving the American Nightmare. They believe that it can hurt Cody’s momentum heading into the Show of Shows. Moreover, it will create a groundswell of support for Zayn, which is exactly what the company doesn’t want. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns still haven’t come face-to-face inside the squared circle. Whenever it happens, WWE wants the fans to cheer for the people in the ring instead of chanting for anyone else. Hence, the promotion has put such measures in place.

After a tragic loss in Montreal for the hometown hero, every door is shut on Sami Zayn’s entry to the main event of WrestleMania. The recent developments in the Bloodline story have made the Canadian superstar the top babyface in the company. As a result, the WWE Universe is still hopeful of some sort of miracle for their favorite. Nonetheless, the chances of the Undisputed title match at the Grandest Stage of Them All being a triple threat look very slim.

In the latest episode of Raw, the Master Strategist tried to reconcile with his best friend, Kevin Owens. While the proposal wasn’t immediately accepted by the prizefighter, it certainly confirmed the rumoured plans for both of them. As the fellow Montreal natives move forward on the road to WrestleMania, fans can expect them to challenge The Usos for the Undisputed tag titles.
