The Women’s Royal Rumble match fired on all cylinders, with several surprises and moments filled throughout the bout. In addition to that, Bayley‘s Iron Woman performance and eventual win, plus Naomi‘s surprise return at #2, are examples of it. Prior to the event, fans heavily anticipated the return of Sasha Banks to WWE. However, she did not show up at all and instead sent a wholesome message to her best friends.
After Naomi and Bayley were both impressive and lasted for more than an hour, The Boss congratulated her “girls” on her Instagram story. She uploaded a photo of the trio to seemingly express her happiness for their performances. While Sasha Banks didn’t return to WWE, she is reportedly expected to show up in its rival promotion, AEW.

The Stamford-based promotion and the former Women’s Champion were in talks in December. Later, Fightful reported that WWE sources couldn’t reach a deal with her and expected Banks to sign with another company imminently. More rumors floated suggesting that Sasha signed a contract with the Tony Khan-led promotion.

For weeks in the buildup to the Royal Rumble, the 32-year-old dropped subtle hints and teases online. However, it looks as if Sasha Banks was trolling the Internet Wrestling Community. All in all, fans are excited to see what lies ahead for the charismatic star in the next chapter of her remarkable career.
Update on Sasha Banks’ potential AEW debut
Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, is more than likely AEW-bound. The hottest free agent in professional wrestling is expected to show up at the Jacksonville-based company soon. Recently, a new report has shed light on the potential debut of the former WWE Women’s Champion.

Dave Metlzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that she will start soon after her acting work delayed her debut. Moreover, AEW will hype her arrival and may make an announcement weeks in advance regarding the same. All in all, it is an exciting few weeks to look ahead to for wrestling fans.
Aside from Banks, Kazuchika Okada is also reportedly set to become “All Elite,” and the pair can end up competing at the upcoming pay-per-view, Revolution. Needless to say, both acquisitions will surely boost the Tony Khan-led promotion’s roster.
