“Desperate times call for desperate measures”: Seth Rollins comments on WWE’s poor booking for the Shield post reunion

Seth Rollins completed 10 years of his debut recently. The megastar’s debut came with the debut of two other superstars, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose. The trio, named the Shield, dominated the whole company for the first few years.
This was before Rollins unleashed an attack on his brothers back in 2014. This led to all three men taking over their singles careers. With three new faces of WWE getting built, the trio took down everyone including each other to become world champions.
Eventually, the three men crossed paths again. This led to a shocking reunion between the trio back in 2017. While the reunion was iconic, the fans didn’t love how WWE booked the three men after the reunion. Seth Rollins had the same say recently during an interview with Bleacher Report.
“I guess one regret would’ve been managing some of the reunions a little bit better, and some of that was out of our control and there was nothing we could do. It’s not ideal to have Kurt Angle in a Shield costume, but desperate times call for desperate measures, so we made the best of it and there’s something to be said for putting people in that role and being able to have the equity to do that.”

After their reunion in 2017, the Shield had a big target ahead of them. The three men were scheduled to face the team of Sheamus, Cesaro, and the Miz at TLC 2017. But this was before the Miz brainstormed and made some new plans.
The A-lister then added the likes of Braun Strowman, and WWE Hall of Famer, Kane to make it a 5 o 3 handicap match. TLC 2017 had a huge problem for the Shield before they increased and Reigns was not able to make it to the PLE.

WWE Hall of Famer then decided to replace Reigns and team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and take it to TLC. While problems weren’t less for the Shield, they managed to stand tall and end their rivalry with the Miz once and for all. While the Shield had a successful run, a few instances of better booking could have ended up with a better run for the trio.
