Braun Strowman’s encounter against Omos was a mammoth affair at Crown Jewel. Though both superstars were praised for their performances, Omos, who dominated in the match, deserved to win at the event. Braun Strowman, too, did an excellent job of selling out and making Omos look like a dominant competitor. This was Strowman’s first big feud in WWE since his return.
Following the match, Braun Strowman took to Twitter and bragged about the match, at one point taking a dig at AEW. As a result of this, he received backlash from a lot of fans and wrestlers, most particularly Chris Jericho.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has now responded to the criticism that the match between Strowman and Omos received. During the recent edition of the Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T feels that both wrestlers did a splendid job, and despite many thinking that the match would be a bad one, they went out there and gave a decent performance.
“That’s [the comment] just gonna stir up a hornet’s nest. And I think they went out and did a hell of a job. And they should be applauded because I’m sure a lot of people thought that match was gonna stink up the house… and they went out there and pulled it off. So giving yourself a pat on the back? Hell yeah, man,”

WWE released Braun Strowman last year as a result of budget cuts. The release was a tough pill to swallow for Strowman, as he had been one of the show runners during the pandemic and was always dedicated to the company. Strowman, being a man of his word, didn’t sign onto any other promotion but instead did his own thing by creating his own promotion, Control Your Narrative (CYN).
During a recent edition of To be a Man Podcast, Ric Flair spoke about why Braun Strowman didn’t go to the AEW. Flair said that AEW, probably didn’t want Strowman to be a part of their company.
“They didn’t want him in AEW. I don’t know whether that’s the case or not, but certainly – it’s nothing against Braun I’m just saying it didn’t happen.” said the ‘Nature Boy.’
Since his match at Crown Jewel, Braun Strowman has fought against Jinder Mahal on November 11th SmackDown as a part of the World Cup. Strowman has advanced to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Thereafter, he fought at the live events, most recently at the Sunday stunner on November 13th.
