Shawn Michaels in WWE
Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest WWE Superstars ever to have stepped in the ring. Michaels has had an illustrious WWE career and was included in the WWE Hall of Fame immediately after his retirement. Shawn Michaels was a complete entertainer, be it his in-ring ability or running his mouth on mic, Shawn was on point and always delivered 100% in the ring. Shawn Michaels and Triple H’s stable D-Generation X was integral and influential in the development of attitude era and is today regarded as one of the best stables in WWE history.
Shawn Michaels fought in the last match of his career in 2009, when he was defeated by the Undertaker at the WrestleMania 26. Thereafter he fought rarely and appeared sporadically in the WWE, with his recent match at the 2019 Crown Jewel, where he and Triple H fought against the brothers of Destruction Kane and Undertaker. The D-Generation X won the match and that was the last time as of now, we saw the D-Generation X into action. The D-Generation X will now appear on RAW in October to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the stable.
Michaels, recently sat down with the New York Post and spoke about the stable. When it comes to D-Generation X, one cannot forget about the Trailblazer Chyna and Michaels spoke about how Chyna would have been as a performer in the current era. He claimed that Chyna would have fit in well and be a fantastic performer if she would have been a current generation of wrestler. Shawn remarked that the fact that Chyna accomplished all of those feats before the present-day wrestlers—even if they are now standard practices—made her an amazing and transformative figure.
“From a performer standpoint she would clearly fit in and be phenomenal. I think what makes her the awe-inspiring, innovative and transforming woman that she was that she did it earlier than all of them,” Michaels said. “It would be a bit more commonplace today. She would certainly have an incredible career — but I don’t know that she’d be the trail blazer today that she is if she were currently doing it today.”
