“GUNTAPPER” Sheamus hits Back at Gunther regarding the Controversial Spot, Referee for the match responds

Sheamus is one of the most hard hitting superstars to ever step foot in a WWE ring. The Celtic Warrior has achieved all the gold in the company except one and is badly chasing it but the only thing that’s not in his favour is that The General is himself guarding the gold and is not even moving an inch.
Well, we are not talking about any heist that Sheamus is currently on but his quest for The Intercontinental Championship. This is the only title which The Celtic Warrior hasn’t won in his WWE Career.
Sheamus questions the match finish, Referee responds it by calling it fair and square
Sheamus had first challenged Gunther at Clash At The Castle but was unsuccessful in capturing the title in a match that was described as an “absolute slobberknocker”. He lost a hard-fought battle and was applauded by the WWE Universe.
Following this, he demanded a rematch against Gunther and got his shot at the title at the latest edition of Smackdown. The match saw him delivering one of the best performances of his career but again fell short by a margin.
But there was a lot of controversy regarding the finish of the match. During the course of the match Sheamus locked Gunther in a Cloverleaf and in the attempt to get out of the hold Gunther tapped on the mat twice but it went unnoticed by the referee as Fans and Sheamus both felt that the match was over there and then.
But the match continued and during the finish of the match Brawling Brutes and The Imperium started brawling outside which was enough to distract the referee before Ludwig Kaiser handed a metal rod which allowed Gunther to hit Sheamus with it and helped him secure the win.
Reacting to the controversy Sheamus wrote on Twitter- ” Guntapper. ?????? #screwjob“. It is clear that The Celtic Warrior isn’t happy with the finish but the referee for the match Jessika Carr has her own point of view regarding the controversial spot.
The referee tweeted to clear her stance and said that Gunther hadn’t tapped out and she had called the match fair and square. She tweeted- ” @WWESheamus I know you’re emotionally fired up right now, you and everyone knows (or should) that I’ll always call it down the middle and you can trust me. He didn’t tap.”
Sheamus hit back at her by saying that even the legendary blind singer like Stevie Wonder could’ve easily spotted it. The Brawling Brutes will take on The Imperium in a traditional 6-Man Dannybrook Match on Saturday at Extreme Rules.
