Shinsuke Nakamura has been on the path of a rampage for the past few months, attacking everybody in his path. His first target was the current World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. The King of Strong Style made it his mission to break Seth’s back so he could never walk again. Although he failed in his attempt to win the title, Rollins is still suffering from a bad back, thanks to Nakamura.
Now, after a month full of promos with hidden hints, Nakamura revealed his next target: The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes. The 43-year-old attacked Cody from behind with mist when he was addressing the Universe about the Royal Rumble and his participation in last week’s episode of Raw.
Finally, Shinsuke Nakamura revealed the reason why he chose Cody as his target. The 43-year-old told Cody they have similar paths to winning the Royal Rumble and losing at Mania. Cody won the Rumble this year but lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, and Nakamura won the Rumble in 2018 but lost to AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34. His main motive was to prevent Cody from finishing the story, as he couldn’t.
WWE has announced that Cody and Nakamura will fight next week on Raw to settle their differences. Fans speculate that this is just the start of their long-term rivalry. It will be interesting to see who will have a psychological advantage going into the match.
Shinsuke Nakamura wants to prove Cody Rhodes that Cody is more blessed than him
A huge rivalry has started between Shinsuke Nakamura and Cody Rhodes. On last week’s edition of Raw, Nakamura attacked Cody with a mist, revealing The American Nightmare as his new target. Now, after explaining why he attacked Rhodes on last night’s Raw, he sent a message through social media.
The 43-year-old took to Twitter and sent a message, writing:
What do you want me to prove? That you are more blessed than me?
He implied that he still feels Cody has been given more opportunities than him. Nakamura hasn’t found much success in his tenure in the WWE. But recently, the fans have seen a completely different, ruthless side of him.
Jealousy could be a factor in this rivalry, as Nakamura has vowed to end Cody Rhodes’s story by himself. They are scheduled to fight each other on next week’s edition of Raw. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
