The moment that wrapped up the Royal Rumble 2024 was Cody Rhodes pointing at the WrestleMania 40 sign. The American Nightmare made history by winning consecutive Rumbles and securing a spot in the main event of Mania. After Rumble went off-air, Rhodes took on his mic and addressed the crowd in St. Petersburg.

Cody asked the Tampa, St. Petersburg audience whether they had a good time at Royal Rumble or not. The cheers from the crowd were the answer to Rhodes’ question. He then shifted his total idea and apologized for what happened at WrestleMania 39. He was talking about his loss to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Rhodes added that it had been a long night in the Tropicana Field and that he wouldn’t keep them hanging around even more. He added that WWE hosted an amazing show with an amazing crew and production. All those times when he comes to Tampa, he tries to keep to himself, as this is Dusty territory. But with this win, St. Petersburg has also become close to his heart.

The closing moment also saw Rhodes point towards The Head of the Table who sat in the luxury box. Reigns was seen raising his title when Cody looked at him standing on the top rope. The rematch between The American Nightmare and The Tribal Chief might be the main event of WrestleMania 40 Night 2.

The American Nightmare mentioned that being a Rhodes fan is not easy. Some people have come from faraway places and did not enjoy the mustache Cody or Dashing Cody.

The reason I walk everybody through this is because it is not always easy to be a Cody Rhodes fans. There are some people who probably traveled from abroad who know that Mustache Cody did not have that many fans, Dashing Cody, Stardust did not have that many fans. It was a tough time.
