This year has been fantastic for some upcoming talents in the WWE. Young wrestlers like Bron Breakker, Cora Jade, Wes Lee, and Roxanne Perez have displayed their talent and put themselves on the map. Solo Sikoa is one such young talent.
Hailing from the Anoaʻi family was a plus for Sikoa. It made it easy for him to be a part of The Bloodline. However, he had to prove his worth and loyalty to the tribal chief. Sikoa interfered at the Clash at the Castle PLE and helped Reigns retain the undisputed Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre.
From then on, Solo Sikoa has always been on The Bloodline’s side and ensures that the members always have his support. Sikoa’s character work has been praised by the WWE Universe, with many comparing his in-ring style to that of his late uncle Umaga. The former North American Champion has established himself as a prominent face, thanks to The Bloodline.
During a recent interview with The New York Post, Solo Sikoa spoke about the transition in his career. He said that it has been a roller coaster ride for him. He anticipated that his PCL injury may prevent him from returning to work, but instead he received a call asking him to attend the Clash at the Castle.
Prior to this significant jump, he competed for a year in the NXT Brand. He also stated that the transition was easy as he had Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns to guide him.
“It’s been a roller coaster. When I got hurt in August (PCL sprain), I thought things were gonna change, and the next thing you know, I got the call to come up for Clash at the Castle. Everything was just happening fast,”

Solo Sikoa spoke about the tribute to his uncle Umaga
On the December 5th edition of RAW, Solo Sikoa viciously attacked Matt Riddle following their match against The Usos. After the Usos won the match, Kevin Owens chased them with a steel chair, leaving Sikoa and Riddle in the ring. Sikoa then launched vicious Samoan-style attacks on Riddle. During the process, he paid tribute to his late uncle Umaga by delivering a Samoan spike and enacting his uncle’s mannerisms in the ring.
Sikoa has now shared the backstory regarding the tribute. In the same interview, he said that the Samoan Spike will definitely be one of his finishers from now on. He said that it was Triple H and Paul Heyman’s idea to have him perform in the ring. Sikoa said that Triple H mentioned Umaga’s death anniversary and told him to pay the tribute.
“The idea came from Hunter. Hunter pulled me aside……I wanted to ask you if you would be OK using the spike?’……I was like, ‘You know what man? Yeah, let’s do it.’ Once he said that I kind of got emotional. For those who don’t remember who Umaga was, now I’m about to refresh their memory.”
Solo Sikoa’s tribute to his late uncle was spot on. The former NXT North American Champion surely has the potential to be one of the top heels in the future. He also has the attributes to become a world champion one day and carry on the Anoaʻi family legacy.
