“Sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesn’t”- When Stephanie McMahon told that WWE always stays in touch with The Rock about his return

The Rock with Stephanie McMahon and Ronda Rousey
The Rock has established himself as one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. Over the years “The Brahma Bull” had a total of 17 championship reigns including 10 World Title runs, the Intercontinental championship twice and the WWE Tag Team Titles on 5 different occasions. He’s also main-evented Wrestlemania five different times having won only 1 match out of all which was against John Cena at Wrestlemania 28.
The Rock has also been the part of potentially the greatest “trilogy” in entire WWE history which he had against the ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ Stone Cold Steve Austin. Rock initially left WWE in 2004 before returning to the company on February 4, 2011 episode of Monday Night Raw where he was revealed as the host of Wrestlemania 27. Following his loss against John Cena at Wrestlemania 29, The Great One against disappeared from the company to focus more on his Hollywood career. It was the exact time when he decided to make a transition into Hollywood nearly on a full-time basis. Following this, Rock continued to make sporadic appearances for WWE.
Few years back when WWE announced Wrestlemania 37 for Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles with a Hollywood theme, fans began speculating that The Rock would definitely be a part of the show majorly because of it’s theme. A week later than the official announcement, Stephanie McMahon addressed to the local media in LA regarding the possibility of The Rock being a part of the show and said that WWE always remains in talks with The Great One regarding his WWE return ending her talk by Cliffhangerinng his status for the show.
We’re always talking to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and hoping he’s going to come back. Sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesn’t, but we’re always talking. Well, I think The Rock is the perfect example of what happens when WWE and Hollywood come together. So I hope that he’ll be a part of it. But I can’t promise anything.”
The Rock has been open to a dream match against Roman Reigns

Despite being tightly packed by his movie schedule, Rock has shown interest in doing 1 more match in WWE against his own cousin Roman Reigns. He has even stated this to be his last ultimate goal left in Pro-wrestling. “The Tribal Chief” has been on a career-defining run in this new heelish persona which has elevated his status as a top star in of professional wrestling today.
After signing a recent deal with WWE, Roman Reigns is bound to work lesser dates than he was doing previously. Per Dave Meltzer, Reigns is scheduled to appear 8 times on WWE programming over the next three months including several Raw and Smackdown appearances along with Summerslam and Clash at the Castle premium-live-events.
While WWE is definitely clamoring for Roman Vs. Rock to somehow happen next year at Mania 23’ in Los Angeles, nothing is set in stone as of yet because everything depends upon The Rock’s busy Hollywood dates.
