WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase has been one of the most iconic names in the industry. The WWE Universe knows him more popularly as The Million Dollar Man. Besides, his son, Brett DiBiase, is a former professional wrestler in America. His run in Florida Championship Wrestling has solidified his name. However, the son of the WWE Hall of Famer has been accused of scandal in Mississippi’s largest public embezzlement case.

Brett DiBiase is a third-generation superstar who has made his name, especially in WWE’s developmental territory. However, his life turned upside down in recent years. The Mississippi Department of Human Services accused him of one of the biggest frauds in the state. According to the Clarion Ledger, the Hall of Famer’s son confessed that he defrauded the Mississippi Department of Human Services. Moreover, he admitted in federal court on Thursday that he made fraudulent statements and deceived the government along with five other people.

According to WLBT, the 34-year-old confessed that he made fraudulent claims to accrue a sum of $48,000 through his business, Restore2. Moreover, he never completed the task he was supposed to do in lieu of the payment and misused the funds. In addition to that, the findings of the report stated that he provided fake documents, invoices, ledgers, and billings to draw a veil over them.

According to the investigation, Brett DiBiase’s legendary father and his brother also received a share of the amount from Mississippi’s State Welfare Fund. However, the court hasn’t found the two of them guilty as of yet. But the State Auditor of Mississippi vowed to impeach all three of them in court. Furthermore, the report by WREG states that NFL star Brett Favre is also involved in the scandal.

According to newspaper reports, this is perhaps one of the biggest scams in Mississippi’s history. Brett DiBiase has pleaded guilty and admitted making fraudulent statements to deceive the government and misuse government funds. According to Clarion Ledger, the court convicted the 34-year-old guilty. As a result, the court will sentence him to five years of imprisonment and fine him $250,000 as a penalty.

As soon as the fraudulence of Brett DiBiase came to light, the higher authorities started their investigations on the matter. The reports of the investigation revealed that Brett DiBiase’s father and his brother received around $2.1 million from the Mississippi Welfare Funds. However, the court has not found Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase guilty yet.

Besides, Shad White, who is the state auditor of Mississippi, believes that the whole DiBiase family has their whack in the scandal. As a result, he said he would sue every member of the family. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what the court’s adjudication of the WWE Hall of Famer and his family will be.
