It’s that time of the year once again, ladies and gentlemen. 2024 is on the horizon, and how could it not jingle some bells on The Rock‘s potential return to WWE? However, this time around, it’s not solely based on the onset of WrestleMania season. Rather, according to The West Australian, tourism officials in Australia have lodged an early bid to lure Black Adam star and WWE legend, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as part of negotiations with WWE.
As the fans know, for the first time in history, WWE will host its annual Elimination Chamber premium live event in Perth next year. Staged in a cricket stadium worth holding over 60,000 people in attendance, the WA officials don’t want to leave any stone unturned for the wrestling rendezvous. As part of their freedom of international laws, they sent a few emails to WWE, querying a few details about their deal with the $21bn conglomerate.
The details obtained by The Sunday Times implicitly suggested that the Australian tourism department is keen to welcome Dwayne Johnson to their country for the WWE PLE. Moreover, The West Australian is the same outlet that had previously reported The Rock’s potential appearance at the Optus Stadium when WWE takes center stage in February.
Thus far, no confirmation has been made from either side regarding The Great One’s expected role at Elimination Chamber. According to the latest advertisement for the event, names like Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Logan Paul, Bianca Belair, and LA Knight are set to leave a mark in Down Under. Of course, there are going to be more additions to that list as the show gets closer.
Has Dwayne Johnson teased a WWE return?
In what has become a cliched fact, Dwayne Johnson is a busy fellow. Not only is he lined up for numerous Hollywood projects, but he is also involved in philanthropy. Lately, he’s been on an unstoppable streak of granting several Make-A-Wish requests.
Over the last week, he met a ton of kids who wanted to see The Rock in person. As posted on his Instagram, he came across a 15-year-old kid named Jayden. As noted by The Brahma Bull, he was an avid fanatic of Johnson’s WWE character, The Rock.
But wait, what has caught everyone’s attention is a line in Dwayne’s caption that teases a WWE return for the Hollywood sensation. Well, Royal Rumble is next month, and who knows if St. Petersburg could smell what he’s cooking?
