Roman Reigns‘ historic 1316-day reign ended as Cody Rhodes defeated him in the Night 2 main event of WrestleMania XL. While the WWE Universe was excited about Rhodes’ next story, many fans also wondered what was next for The Tribal Chief. Finally, Triple H shed some light on The Tribal Chief’s plans after WrestleMania.
The CCO, Triple H, shared his thoughts during the post-event press conference. Upon being asked about the future of Roman Reigns, he stated that a brand new story was waiting for him. Hunter further added that if they were entertained by the Bloodline saga, then Reigns would blow people’s minds with this next storyline.
Unfortunately, The Tribal Chief had made so many enemies during his world title reign that it came back to haunt him. WWE legend John Cena made his return and gave Solo Sikoa an Attitude Adjustment on the announcer’s table. Not only that, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker also came out of nowhere and put down The Rock with a devastating chokeslam.
He's gonna go on a whole new story now, that he's going to blow people's minds I think. And I know he's going to take it to a whole another level.Triple H during the WrestleMania press conference
Reigns was caught sharing an emotional moment with Paul Heyman as The Bloodline’s dominance finally came to an end at WrestleMania. Many fans are speculating that this loss will be the final nail in the coffin of the partnership between The Final Boss and The Tribal Chief. It will be interesting to see what he has to say on the upcoming episode of Raw after WrestleMania.
A lookback at Roman Reigns’ historic title reign which dominated WWE
Even though he lost at WrestleMania XL, nobody can deny that the Head of the Table’s 1316-day title reign was one of the greatest of all time. In more than three years of dominance, he defended his title a total of 31 times, and fans rarely had a feeling that he would lose throughout the duration of it. Here is a look back at his journey to the top, which started on August 30, 2020, at the Payback PLE.
After winning the title from The Fiend, he defended it against the likes of Jey Uso and Kevin Owens. He then shifted his focus to the new challengers, Daniel Bryan and the 2021 Royal Rumble winner, Edge. However, The Tribal Chief reigned supreme against both of them on Night 2 of WrestleMania 37.
Reigns started a new journey after his fantastic victory at the Show of Shows. He defended his title against multiple opponents like John Cena, Finn Balor, and Seth Rollins. After Brock Lesnar won the 2022 Royal Rumble, they collided in a championship unification match at WrestleMania 38, which the Bloodline leader ended up winning.
As the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the 38-year-old legend dominated opponents like Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle. However, a new challenger, Cody Rhodes, was waiting for him at WrestleMania 39 after winning the 2023 Royal Rumble. The Tribal Chief won that match with the help of The Bloodline and dominated the whole year. Despite finally losing his title to the same opponent at WrestleMania XL, he has already cemented his name in the history books.
