WWE has been in talks for a sale for more than a month now. It was one of the major reasons why the former CEO of the company, Vince McMahon, returned as Chairman. At this pivotal point in the company’s history, WWE Universe assumed that there must be some kind of involvement from Triple H in the sale as well. However, the Chief Content Officer has thrashed all such doubts from people’s minds.
In the Elimination Chamber post-show press conference, as usual, Triple H came out to answer questions from the wrestling media. When asked about the conversations regarding the sale and Vince McMahon’s return, The Game said, “I stay out of it. And that’s not a cop-out answer. I have the greatest gig in the world… As long as we get to do this, as long as we get to create the way we get to create it, as long as we get to go out there and put our passion on display, as long as our talent is allowed to put their passion on display and do what we do, I’m good.”
Earlier this week, reports claimed that Vince McMahon was asking for $9 billion for his company. The current top bidders for WWE include Endeavor Group and Saudi Arabia PIF, while other major players are still in the running. Though, David Faber of Comcast (CNBC) has explicitly told the company that a deal between them is “unlikely.” However, WWE CEO Nick Khan has said that the sale of the company can be finalized in the next three months.

Triple H thanks the Montreal crowd
At the Elimination Chamber press conference, Triple H also took some time to thank the audience in Montreal. While announcing the attendance of 17,271, The Game revealed that this was the company’s biggest gate in Montreal. He said, “When a crowd is the star of your event, you’re onto something special. The place from start to finish before the first match ever hit the ring till the last person left that arena. It was electric.”
Triple H continues to impress the WWE Universe with his booking, and the recent ticket sales are indicative of that. It is a rarity that WWE hosts an event of such proportions in Canada, but whenever they do, the crowd comes out in big numbers to support the talent in the ring. The main event was just an example of the same, where the WWE Universe at the Bell Centre elevated the match between Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns to another level.
