Theory looked aggressive and dominant after losing the MITB contract. Under the Triple H regime, the United States Champion’s name was also reverted back to Austin Theory rather than just Theory.

During a recent interview with ESPN, Triple H spoke about giving the US Champion his first name, Austin. He claimed that calling him Theory seemed strange and inappropriate. The Cerebral Assassin went on to explain that if people are confused about Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Austin Theory, it is absolutely their fault.

“It’s a little bit hard to just refer to him as Theory……if you don’t know the difference between Austin Theory and Stone Cold Steve Austin, there’s already a problem, right? So, we’re fixing the wrong end of the problem.”
