The story of Cody Rhodes has been revitalized once again. After he refused to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, fans expressed their resentment all over social media. It led to WWE pivoting from the decision and once again putting the American Nightmare in the story. Recently, a report came up that suggested Triple Hs take and the original plans he had for Rhodes and Reigns.

According to Dave Meltzer via PWMania, The Game was planning to have the Bloodline attack the American Nightmare on the February 2nd episode of SmackDown. Thereafter, a match between the Tribal Chief and The Rock was meant to be announced at WrestleMania kickoff, with the return of Cody Rhodes. However, it all changed after CM Punk announced his injury on Raw after the Royal Rumble.

The storyline on the 1/29 Raw where Rollins tried to talk Rhodes into taking the match with him on that night wasn’t 100 percent to set up that match, although it was a very probable and very quickly was the plan. We’re told it was a backup plan designed to provide for an alternative regarding Johnson’s pitches of what he wanted because things were constantly changing.

Therefore, Seth Rollins persuading the American Nightmare to choose him at WrestleMania was also an impromptu decision. Besides, the report also reveals that Triple H never wanted Rhodes to get screwed by Dwayne The Rock Johnson at any time. After all the mayhem and chaos, Cody finally got his match at the Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania Kickoff.

As of now, the American Nightmare is all set to go up against the Head of the Table for the Undisputed Championship. Although the People’s Champion has vowed to annihilate Rhodes at the Show of Shows after joining The Bloodline. Only time will tell how many ups and downs are going to be in this blockbuster feud heading to the Showcase of Immortals.

Is Triple H returning to have a match against The Rock at WrestleMania 40?

Triple H has played a vital role in WWE programming lately. He is the Chief Content Officer of the company and is responsible for the product overall. Fans noticed that during the WrestleMania kickoff presser, there was some sort of heat between him and The Rock. The same “heat” was carried forward on SmackDown as well, where The Game delivered a vicious promo. Fans have been speculating ever since if the King of Kings will once again lace up a pair of boots to face the Brahma Bull at WrestleMania.

Although the Game has been heavily teasing his involvement in the Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns storyline. It is highly unlikely that he will play any major role moving forward. Triple H bid adieu to the wrestling ring a few years ago due to many critical health challenges that occurred during his last couple of matches. It was later revealed that the former WWE Champion has a few heart issues, which might make it difficult for him to compete in the ring.

Therefore, it is unlikely that he will ever compete in the WWE ring, let alone at WrestleMania 40. In essence, he might have a few face-offs with the People’s Champion on the road to WrestleMania, and that’s it. However, the world of professional wrestling is unpredictable. It is going to be interesting to see the role of the Cerebral Assassin on the road to the Show of Shows this year.
