Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returned to the WWE after a decade to have an extended run. With being involved in so many big movies and other ventures, one might wonder why The Great One returned despite having over-the-top success in Hollywood. Moreover, the 51-year-old not only returned for sporadic appearances but to compete at WrestleMania as well.
Rocky’s arch-nemesis Triple H recently revealed that it was the massive success of WWE that brought back The Final Boss to WWE despite having a tight schedule. He did so while shopping with Complex’s Joe La Puma. Moreover, he mentioned Travis Scott and Bad Bunny also appearing on WWE to solidify the wrestling giant’s massive success.
The Rock is a bigger star than ever before. Earlier, the Black Adam actor had an extended run in WWE around 2013. Since then, he has broken box-office records multiple times in Hollywood and achieved the moniker of “highest-paid actor of all time.” So, The Bloodline member is highly engaged in other works outside of WWE.
Since returning to WWE, the TKO board member has elevated the heights of WWE. Needless to say, multiple SmackDown episodes have been sold out courtesy of Flex Kavana. He even brought his greatness to Raw last week.
Will The Rock go back to Hollywood after his match at WrestleMania 40?
The Rock last wrestled at WrestleMania 32. Now, he will return to wrestling alongside Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL for the first time in almost a decade. Considering the ring rust and age factor, it is undeniable that The Brahma Bull won’t have much gas left in the tank. Moreover, the California native first returned with the sole purpose of facing his cousin, the Head of the Table. So, one might wonder, will the greatness last post ‘Mania XL?
Ironically, The Rock is in an alternate dimension. It is quite uncanny, but he joined forces with the Emperor whose Empire he vowed to conquer. Also, Reigns vs. Rock is the biggest box-office match WWE can book. The TKO-led promotion won’t miss out on garnering mainstream attraction by not having the Hollywood star vs. the possible future Hollywood star. Talking about ‘Mania 40, will Rock be loyal to his Tribal Chief?
Everything went down the spiral after “Cody crybabies” according to Johnson, began protesting. The fan eruption was so gigantic that the already-set stage for the biggest WrestleMania match of all time was down and dusted. But, Rock’s sudden acknowledgment of his cousin and following his orders seem quite fishy. So, a potential showdown between the Samoan Stalwarts is still close to happening, only when remains uncertain.
