With a lot of surprises and jaw-dropping moments, the first night of WrestleMania 39 has finally wrapped up. Following the spectacular event in Los Angeles, WWE held an exclusive press conference. During that conference, Triple H revealed why The Usos headlined Night 1 of WrestleMania and not Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair.

Rhea Ripley won the Women’s Royal Rumble this year. Therefore, considering WWE’s longstanding tradition, she was rightfully the one to headline the first night of WrestleMania 39. However, things changed, and the Tag Team Championship match main evented the show. The Usos vs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens headlined the first night in the SoFi Stadium in a monumental match.

During the press conference, Triple H stated the reason behind the main eventing of The Usos. He asserted that it was all about what was the most “impactful” thing heading into WrestleMania. Hunter said he believed that the storyline of The Usos was the most “emotional” and “storyline-driven” on the roster. Therefore, Hunter said he felt that was the match that deserved to get the main event spot at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Moreover, Triple H thoroughly praised Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. He referred to Flair as a “generational superstar” and called Ripley a young, talented future star. However, Triple H emphasized that for him, it’s the storylines that keep the matches at the main event spot. The Chief Content Officer also said that whether it be men or women, it’s the storyline and the build-up of the matches that decide their fate.

The Bloodline saga has captivated and fascinated the fans on the main roster for the last few months. There has been a lot of pandemonium between The Usos and Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens. It’s a storyline that had drama, emotions, entertainment, and everything else needed to build up a phenomenal feud. Therefore, Hunter believed this was the match that had to pay off at the main event of Mania.

In the Triple H era, the fans have seen long-term storytelling. The match card for WrestleMania is the epitome of Hunter’s perspective. Most of the matches in the card have been shaping up for several months. Therefore, this is why Triple H believes that the match between The Usos and Owens & Zayn deserved the main event spot at WrestleMania 39.
