Trish Stratus made her return to the WWE earlier this year to help the team of Becky Lynch and Lita capture the women’s tag team title. The following week, a WrestleMania 39 six-woman tag match, i.e. Damage CTRL vs. the team of Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch was made official. The trio of Lynch and the two Hall of Famers had amazing chemistry heading into Mania. Moreover, Stratus, Lita, and Lynch eventually overcame Damage CTRL in the high-profile six-woman tag match.

Carrying the momentum from their WrestleMania victory, the women’s tag team champions, Becky Lynch and Lita were set to defend their titles this week on Raw. However, prior to the match, Lita was mysteriously attacked backstage and had to be taken to the hospital. The incident forced Becky to team up with Trish Stratus instead.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 contenders, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, were poised to capture the title. In the conclusion of the match, Morgan managed to pin Stratus. That resulted in her and Raquel becoming the new women’s tag team champions. Following her loss, Becky manifested respect for the Hall of Famer even after losing the title.

However, Trish eventually snapped and turned on Becky. The moment shook the fans in attendance to the core, as Stratus received a huge round of boos. Meanwhile, the former seven-time women’s champion didn’t stop as she laid down The Man with a kick to her face before leaving as well. Later on Raw, Trish also avoided the question of why she did what she did.

Following the shocking turn of events on Raw, the rumored Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus seems most likely to happen. The dream match was in talks even before Trish made her WWE return this year. Now the feud will possibly see a development in the forthcoming weeks, eventually culminating to a showdown.

The anticipated dream match is expected to go down at SummerSlam this year. This year, the biggest event of the summer is set to take place inside the packed Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Moreover, WWE will surely pull out all the stops to make the event bigger. Hence, it remains to be seen when WWE decides to pull the trigger on Stratus vs. Lynch.
