Massive update on Kenny Omega’s potential jump to WWE, higher-ups positive about signing the top AEW name
WWE Officials are seemingly positive about signing Kenny Omega as his AEW contract comes to an end.
Tripile H and Kenny Omega
The wrestling world is probably on the verge of one of its greatest bidding wars, as many stars are entering negotiations for their future deals. Many AEW wrestlers’ four- and five-year contracts are coming to an end and would make interesting signings for WWE. One of the biggest names WWE could snatch from their rival is Kenny Omega, whose deal with AEW might be up soon.
According to Fightful Select, Omega’s contract with AEW is set to expire “soon,” and sources tell them that he is currently negotiating a new deal. Several sources have also claimed that the time the former AEW world champion took last year to recover from his injury might get added to his contract as well. However, this claim remains disputed.
Amidst all these rumors, Fightful also reached out to its sources in WWE to check the water in the rival camp. The report reads, “An interesting note is the amount of chatter emanating from WWE of late, with several in the company believing they have a chance to land Kenny Omega.”
Kenny Omega is on good terms with WWE as well, especially in his relationship with Triple H. This is because the two parties had a similar conversation in 2018 when the Cleaner was looking for a WWE deal. Instead, the former Bullet Club leader remained with his friend in the Elite and started his own promotion. After Cody Rhodes jumped ship last year from AEW to WWE, it seems the fans could never undermine such reports.

Can the Young Bucks join Kenny Omega in WWE?
Earlier, there were also reports that the Young Bucks were also nearing the end of their AEW contracts. The former AEW tag team champions are currently in similar negotiations, weighing their options in both promotions. However, the Bucks have a long time left in their deal, as they might see this whole year out. However, if Kenny leaves, the Bucks just might follow suit as well. The current AEW Trios champions are the biggest assets of the company. Hence, Tony Khan might pull all the strings to keep his EVPs within AEW.
The Elite are just a few names WWE is looking to sign in the near future. Other big names rumored to be WWE-bound include Jay White, Tama Tonga, and Kota Ibushi from NJPW. Certain reports suggest that Triple H is eager to secure these stars as their relationship with the Japanese promotion is coming to an end.
