It looks like WWE will indeed go after Will Ospreay once he becomes a free agent.

At Crown Jewel, Seth Rollins successfully defended his World Heavyweight title against Drew McIntyre in an edge-of-the-seat thriller. What happened moments after the match certainly garnered attention from the fans. The current IWGP United States Champion, Will Ospreay, dropped an eyeball emoji while quoting a reply to WWE’s official post regarding The Visionary.
It didn’t take long for Rollins to follow suit, as he replied, saying, “The water is warm.” It fueled unbridled speculation regarding Ospreay’s potential jump to WWE once his contract expires. Dave Meltzer of WON has indicated that WWE is ‘absolutely in the picture’. Though he did note that Will might go either way with WWE or AEW, it would ultimately come down to who offers him that heavy bag.

It’s been well documented that the 30-year-old’s NJPW contract will expire next year on February 1. That falls amid WWE’s build to WrestleMania 40. They might want Ospreay to hang in the balance. In the past, the UK-based wrestler has discussed potentially facing Seth Rollins somewhere down the road. Up to this point, it’s all fantasy. However, it might turn into a reality if WWE could snatch the Aerial Assassin.
Both Rollins and Ospreay would make a treat to the eye if put together. Will Ospreay has had a few matches in AEW, and they’ve been nothing short of awe-inspiring. Back at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, he outclassed Kenny Omega in an absolute slobber knocker. Meanwhile, Seth Rollins is probably in his heyday at the moment. Rollins vs. Ospreay is a match that many would want to go down before it’s too late.
What’s next for Seth Rollins after Crown Jewel?
Ever since getting past Drew McIntyre in Riyadh, the WWE Universe has been wondering what’s next for Seth Rollins. He might get into a rematch with The Scottish Warrior. However, there’s some pressure from Damian Priest, too.

He tried to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at Crown Jewel. But Sami Zayn saved the day for The Visionary. WWE could turn the wheels a bit to deploy a new challenger for Seth Rollins. But it’s looking unlikely, as there’s enough motivation for McIntyre to try and have a go at the champion once again.
After Drew lost, he was shown backstage, where Rhea Ripley had a disappointing look at his face. It seems like rejecting Mami’s offer to invite some aid from The Judgment Day did cost the Scotsman.
