The Viper, Randy Orton, is undoubtedly a first-ballot future Hall of Famer. As a matter of fact, OVW’s legendary class of 2002 falls in the same category, including Brock Lesnar. However, even the legends of today couldn’t elude botches in wrestling. Speaking of which, Randy Orton recently recalled his first encounter with the Beast Incarnate, wherein the latter did a clumsy botch.

The Apex Predator appeared as a special guest on the most recent episode of the IMPAULSIVE Podcast. This marks the former’s first-ever public interview in over 18 months. While in conversation, host and US Champion Logan Paul broached about the Viper’s early days in OVW, where he trained with the likes of John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Following that, Orton detailed a hilarious botch by Lesnar in OVW.

Recalling the first day of Lesnar in OVW, the 43-year-old noted that he and others were doing the rope-running drills. Soon enough, the Conqueror made his way to the ring. The Viper mentioned the most essential principle of rope running. He stated that whenever a superstar is running the ropes, they must get their arms over the top. However, Lesnar failed to take note of this very fundamental rule.

So here comes Lesnar... we start doing the rope running drills, where you just burn, you just go, and he didn’t hook the top rope... he leapt out of the ring between the second and third rope and took out like twenty metal chairs. And then he just popped up, dusted himself off.

Furthermore, he added that the 46-year-old instead leaped out of the ring between the second and third ropes. As a result, he ended up crashing into the metal chairs. What ensued after that was quite hilarious, as Lesnar acted as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened and dusted himself off. The Viper also remarked that back in the day, wrestlers trained in a small warehouse, unlike today’s performance center training facility.
