There is yet another chapter added to the latest father-and-son saga in WWE. Dominik and Rey Mysterio came face to face yet again outside of a WWE ring. The family members met at a NASCAR promotional event, but it was far from a benign family reunion. LA Coliseum became the new place for Judgment Day to take shots at their rival.
Rey Mysterio and The New Day were present at the LA Coliseum ahead of the Clash at Daytona RC this Saturday. The trio was hanging out with professional driver Michael Waltrip and commentator Clint Bowyer before they were interrupted by The Judgment Day. The intruding group was also joined by another NASCAR pro, Ross Chastain. After some verbal back-and-forth, Rey and Dominik Mysterio agreed to gear up for a head-on race.
During the race, Dominik made some bold remarks while trash-talking his dad. However, in the end, it was the Master of 619 who came out victorious in the competition. After the events that unfolded, Dominik was furious that he lost. This resulted in a mini-brawl between The New Day, Rey Mysterio, and The Judgment Day. There was not much action, though, as the racing crew controlled both parties. This segment was seemingly filmed on February 2nd in order to promote NASCAR’s Clash at Coliseum race, which will air on February 5th on FOX.

Dominik and Rey Mysterio might face off at WrestleMania 39
The rivalry between father and son has been brewing ever since Clash at the Castle last year. At the event, Dominik turned on Edge and Rey Mysterio and joined The Judgment Day. Ever since then, Rey has refused to strike his son in retaliation, which resulted in him moving to the opposite brand from his son. On the other hand, Dominik has left no stone unturned to provoke his father, making his life a living hell. This included invading the Mysterio house along with his “Mami” Rhea Ripley during the holidays.
Following his absence from the Royal Rumble, there were reports that Rey Mysterio had been injured during his SmackDown match against Karrion Kross. However, the nature of this injury is not yet known. Nonetheless, last night’s tease between Rey and Dominik confirms that this match is going to happen very soon. And if it is, there is no better place than at the Showcase of the Immortals. A WrestleMania match, where the duo finally settles their differences in the ring, the story writes itself.
