Last night on SmackDown, Roman Reigns declared Cody Rhodes an idiot until he proved he wasn’t. The Tribal Chief thought only he was the one who could assemble an entourage. However, his challenger had backup of his own. But after leveling things up, The American Nightmare once again staged a giveaway session once the show went off air. With Jey Uso by his side, Rhodes made the fans go bananas for his shoe.
Autographed by “Main Event” Jey and Cody himself, that pair of boots was set to be given away. However, after seeing the packed house in Milwaukee come unglued, The Prodigal Son decided to milk it out. Rhodes heard the response from every section of the arena. It was somewhat indistinguishable. So, at the end, The American Nightmare pointed at someone in the crowd and asked WWE personnel to hand that shoe over to that fan.
The remaining one was set to be dispatched by the Yeet Master, Jey. He decided to launch it deep. Uso took a swing or two and sent the shoe packing into the throng. After it was said and done, Cody Rhodes addressed the crowd and thanked them for being a part of the show this week. Earlier on in the night, Roman Reigns poked fun at his WrestleMania opponent’s philanthropic ideology.
Reigns affirmed that Rhodes keeps binding himself to promises he can’t fulfill. For the record, The Son of a Plumber does have some commitments lined up. He’s entitled to be someone’s best man at his wedding. Moreover, he’ll attend a kid’s birthday party later this year, as he promised the young lad at a recent live event.
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns held their own on SmackDown
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion did show up without The Bloodline, at least to begin with. Once Cody Rhodes followed suit and arrived alone, Roman Reigns thought he had the former where he wanted him.
The Tribal Chief condemned Cody’s unscrupulous camaraderie with his “little brother,” Seth Rollins. The Bloodline supremo asked his foe whether he didn’t see how Seth betrayed his Shield brothers back in the day.
Cody answered by saying that Rollins may loathe his gut, but he hated Roman way more. As a matter of fact, the former AEW EVP inquired Reigns about the allegiance of his Hollywood cousin, The Rock.
Both Roman and Cody threw the kitchen sink at each other, but neither seemed to gain a prohibitive upper hand. However, things are expected to pick up steam sooner than later.
