WrestleMania, often termed WWE’s Super Bowl, is the peak of sports entertainment and has been the same for 40 years. The Shows of Shows was started back in 1985 and became the biggest event of WWF. In 2024, it marks the 40th iteration of The Showcase of Immortals as it comes back to Philadelphia. However, rumors about the host for next year’s event have boiled up as Minneapolis looks to be in front.

On March 13th, the Star Tribune published an article confirming Minnesota Sports and Events’ interest in hosting WrestleMania next year. MNSE submitted its bid to host WrestleMania 41 live from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The NFL stadium has a capacity of 66,000, which can be expanded to 73,000 for special events. If the rumors come true, it will be the very first time Minneapolis will be hosting Mania.

Wendy Blackshaw, MNSE’s President, claimed that Minneapolis is one of the multiple cities that WWE invited to bid for WrestleMania XLI. The report also stated that in a few weeks, the winner of these bids would be announced by WWE themselves. Blackshaw stated her hopefulness to benefit from the bid.

We are hopeful, and I hope we get it. It would be amazing.

Generally, the host for next year’s WrestleMania is announced a year earlier, around the hype period of the ongoing Mania season. This year, WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field will be held on April 6 and 7, so XLI’s announcement should be expected around April. Minneapolis has been rumored to be hosting WrestleMania 41 for quite a while now, and these coming days might ensure it’s happening.

Wendy Blackshaw states the experience of WrestleMania 39

Minnesota Sports and Events has shown interest in hosting WrestleMania 41 at U.S. Bank Stadium. This comes from the fact that the Mania host cities incur a huge profit, which boosts their tourism. However, MNSE’s President, Wendy Blackshaw, could have a little bias from her last year’s experience too.

The Star Tribune also reported Blackshaw’s comments about attending WrestleMania 39. Wendy claimed that it was like nothing she had ever seen before. The crowd ranged from 5-year-old kids to 95-year-old grandparents. Blackshaw concluded by stating that the pageantry at The Shows of Shows was unreal.

It was nothing like I had ever seen in my whole life. The ages were 5 to 95: little kids, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. The pageantry, it's unreal.

She also checked on the business perspective of things by recalling the profits from WrestleMania 39 and 38. Blackshaw stated that Mania is nothing less than a Super Bowl when it comes to revenue generation for the host. When WrestleMania went to Hollywood in Los Angeles, they generated $235 million, while Dallas gained $215 million in economic benefit by hosting the Showcase of Immortals.
