WWE has played a huge role in influencing pop culture with its most remarkable gimmicks. One of the most memorable is The Undertaker, known for his terrifying Deadman persona. Years later, it was Kane who came up with a similar aura and aligned with Taker, forming the Brothers of Destruction team. Their legacy still lives on in the professional wrestling world and was recently mentioned by Donald Trump.
As a part of his 2024 Presidential campaign, Trump delivered a speech at the Iowa caucuses. The former president mentioned Glenn Jacobs, a.k.a. Kane, one of his friends who was present there. Jacobs is currently the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Trump praised Glenn for his size and later asked for his height and weight. The former president hilariously claimed to have been near the weight of Kane, i.e., 300 pounds.
From what Trump knew about WWE, he name-dropped Undertaker. He remembered The Deadman walking around in the ring while lifting a 300-pound guy over his shoulders. Trump looked amazed while recalling the good times he spent watching wrestling. The speech meant for his pre-election rally deviated smartly and gained eyeballs from the wrestling fans.
He’s Knox County, Tennessee, do you know Glenn Jacobs? Goes by the name, goes by the name of …. Kane. Kane. Look at the size of this guy. When I see these guys, some of them like The Undertaker right? And I see him and walks around the ring lifting a 300-pound guy over his shoulders like this. It may be acting... then he throws him into the seats, it's pretty great.Donald Trump mentioning The Undertaker and Kane during his speech
Kane was last seen on WWE programming back at SummerSlam 2022. But his wrestling ended at Royal Rumble 2021 when he was eliminated by Damian Priest in the traditional 30-men Royal Rumble match. The Undertaker’s last bout was a Boneyard match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 Night 1. Although he recently appeared on the October 10, 2023, episode of NXT to lay down Bron Breakker.
