This week on SmackDown, Sami Zayn appeared in his hometown with his classic theme song, “Worlds Apart.” The crowd in Montreal went absolutely bonkers during the entrance of their hometown hero. Sami will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal championship this Saturday. The Elimination Chamber PLE will also take place in Montreal this year. Prior to his match, Sami gained much-needed momentum and a lot of confidence, heading to Chamber with a massive reaction from Montreal.

Following his amazing entrance, Sami Zayn was holding the mic inside the ring and wanted to say something. However, the fans in attendance showered Zayn with continuous loud chants, not letting him speak. In the beginning, the Montreal crowd manifested appreciation for the pride of their city by chanting “Sami, Sami.” Fans then started chanting, “You deserve it” and “ole,” referring to Zayn’s current run in the WWE.

Roman Reigns was also mentioned by the crowd; however, they didn’t show any respect towards the undisputed WWE Universal champion. Fans expressed their hatred towards Reigns by chanting “F*ck you, Roman” loudly and continually. The chants were being repeated more and more loudly and showed no signs of stopping. When things started to get out of hand, WWE was forced to censor the chants from the crowd.

During the live broadcast, WWE had to mute the audio midway due to the inappropriate chants. The screen also blacked out for a moment after the broadcast got muted. When Sami started talking, he couldn’t be heard because the audio was still muted due to the chants. The reaction from the passionate Montreal crowd would be interesting to hear when Roman is in front of them.

Sami Zayn has been doing the greatest work of his career since getting involved in The Bloodline story. However, following a lot of ups and downs during his journey as an “Honorary Uce,” Zayn finally made his choice last month. At the Royal Rumble this year, Sami shocked the world by hitting Roman Reigns with a steel chair.

Since then, Sami Zayn has become the hottest act in wrestling currently. On SmackDown following the Rumble, Sami challenged Roman to the undisputed title match at the Elimination Chamber. The match was made official, but it looked highly unlikely that Roman would lose his title before WrestleMania.

However, this past Monday on Raw, Sami called out Cody Rhodes and asked him if he really believed that Zayn could do it. Sami was doubting himself, mentioning how Roman is in God mode currently. Cody fueled Sami’s confidence by saying that he would see Zayn at WrestleMania.

Sami has gained immense backing from fans, and he is heading into his title match this Saturday with all the momentum. It will be interesting to see if Zayn can pull off the biggest upset and walk out of his hometown as the new champion.
