The WWE Draft 2023 has officially begun with this week’s episode of SmackDown. The first night of the Draft brought with it lots of surprises and excitement for the fans. Some of the most prominent names exchanged their rosters, reinvigorating both brands. The Draft truly looks to usher in a new and fresh beginning in Raw and SmackDown.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H appeared this week on SmackDown to begin the monumental night. The Game announced the first round of the Draft 2023, leaving the fans on the edge of their seats. The first pick of the Night 1 of the Draft was inevitable, as SmackDown selected Roman Reigns along with Solo Sikoa. On the other hand, Monday Night Raw chose Cody Rhodes to be their first pick for the red brand.

When it comes to the women’s division, Bianca Belair was the first pick in round one of the Draft. The EST will head to the SmackDown brand, whereas Becky Lynch will stay on Monday Night Raw. Besides, some of the top stars, such as Bobby Lashley and Gunther, will exchange their brands. The first night of the Draft also saw the return of AJ Styles to SmackDown along with the OC.

Moreover, the factions such as The Street Profits and Damage CTRL also exchanged their brands. One of the surprising names in the Draft came in the form of NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell. It was truly an iconic moment for her, as she will be making her main roster debut. In addition to that, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alfa Fyre and Isla Dawn were also drafted to the main roster.
