Roman Reigns has been the WWE’s top guy since 2015. However, his previous Big Dawg babyface character was not well received by the fans, as they thought he could be a better heel. At SummerSlam in 2020, Reigns made his surprise return and shocked everyone by aligning himself with Paul Heyman days later. He eventually won the Universal title with his brand-new heel character. Reigns also joined forces with his cousins, The Usos, to form The Bloodline.

Ever since winning the Universal title, Roman Reigns with The Bloodline has been smashing his challengers for almost three years. The Tribal Chief has also held the undisputed WWE Universal championship for nearly a year. During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed Roman’s match against Sami Zayn while lauding his in-ring abilities.

Bully Ray said, “I love what Roman is doing, because Roman just takes his time so much, and just let’s it soak in. I loved the Roman and Sami match, because when the bell rang, Roman is smart enough. Not that Sami isn’t, but Sami is going along with whatever Roman wants to do. Roman is smart enough to not do a damn thing, just sit there, soak it in, let the emotion come through, let the fans get into everything. And when they finally locked up, the place popped.”

Roman has been playing the heel character better than many in the wrestling industry lately. He generates a lot of heat from the crowd to help elevate the babyfaces with his trash-talking and storytelling during a match.
