The charismatic star consistently receives some of the loudest reactions from fans, thanks to his massive following. However, his absence from last Friday’s SmackDown disappointed many fans who eagerly anticipated his appearances.

The 40-year-old missed the latest episode of SmackDown due to COVID-19. He was advertised for the show but was pulled out at the last moment due to the diagnosis. Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that WWE made a commendable gesture for the live fans due to Knight’s absence.

WWE, recognizing fans’ disappointment over LA Knight’s absence, opted to refund tickets after his non-appearance announcement just before the event. This was to ensure audience satisfaction as many had come specifically to see The Megastar.

Dave Meltzer emphasized, “Normally, WWE will only announce a no-show if it’s a Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins-level wrestler.” However, WWE’s decision to announce LA Knight’s absence reflects how the company perceives him. Knight is a top-notch superstar due to his immense popularity.

LA Knight was to team up with John Cena against The Bloodline, but his status is now uncertain. Rumors suggest Knight may appear at Fastlane to join Cena. On SmackDown’s main event, AJ Styles get hospitalized after an attack by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.

With AJ unavailable, WWE confirmed a handicap match for the October premium live event, with Cena facing The Bloodline solo. However, it remains unclear if LA Knight will recover in time to aid Cena against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at Fastlane.

Mace and Mansoor thought of LA Knight to play Maxxine Dupri

The recently released stars, Mace and Mansoor, were part of Maximum Male Models in 2022. The faction originally included Max Dupri (now LA Knight) as the leader and manager of his stablemates. The group then added Maxxine Dupri, stated to be Max’s real sister, to the mix.

Now that Mace and Mansoor are no longer with the company, they have stated some more facts about their faction. A story regarding LA Knight, shared by them on their Twitch livestream, had a major revelation. One such moment saw them discussing how they thought of Knight to play Maxxine.

Mansoor said that Maxxine’s character was created on X and got teased later for SmackDown. His discussion about the same with Knight happened: “It’s going to be you in a dress, isn’t it?’ He’s like, ‘It’s going to be me in a dress.” Eventually, the plans became solid, and Sofia Cromwell from NXT got the role to portray the character of Maxxine.
