To avoid catching the ire of fans, WWE is planning something unique. As known, ever since CM Punk‘s unceremonious expulsion from AEW, his future has been widely speculated. Amidst the spree of conflicting reports, it’s to the point where he’s not in talks with WWE for a return. And that’s why the company doesn’t want to invoke unnecessary expectations about The Best in the World.

Since this year’s Survivor Series will be in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, fans thought it would be a perfect homecoming for him. However, as per Fightful Select, WWE is planning to unveil the remaining and fifth members of the Men’s WarGames match on the final show before the Survivor Series. It’s aimed at weathering the farcical CM Punk storm.

Moreover, the report also confirmed that Drew McIntyre planned for months to join The Judgment Day and turn heel in the process. Meanwhile, on the babyface side of things, a returning Randy Orton will likely align with the face team. One could argue why WWE wants to have The Apex Predator back just hours before the Survivor Series.

However, the reason is simple, and that’s to avoid fans having a glimmer of hope in regards to a CM Punk return. WWE will not want fans to hijack the entire show at Allstate Arena with CM Punk’s chants. However, if Punk returns at the November 25 spectacle, it would be a complete shocker to the majority of the staff in WWE, leaving the top brass.

Survivor Series about to go ‘Big Time’ with rumored addition of Becky Lynch

Like men, the ever-so-talented WWE women will also ply their trade in the WarGames match. Per WrestleVotes, the newly formed alliance of Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, Asuka, and Bayley will take on Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and an unlisted competitor. However, the final woman to join the baby faces may have been revealed.

As reported by PWInsider, Becky Lynch will join the team of Belair, Flair, and Shotzi for the WarGames match at Survivor Series. Unlike the men’s one, the women’s showdown is shaping up to be a 4-on-4 scenario. If Lynch becomes a part of it, the match will become as star-studded affair.

Though there’s still room for the fifth participant on each team, there’s no concrete evidence that it might happen or not. Nonetheless, one thing’s for sure: November 25 is going to change the complexion of existing storylines in WWE.
