Over the years, WWE has incorporated significant changes in the names of superstars, factions, premium live events, and other aspects. The company has always experimented with newfangled ideas, taking care of every intricate detail. According to recent reports, WWE is likely to make a major change to the name of the “King and Queen of the Ring” premium live event.
WWE has been organizing exclusive live events over the years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, this year the company hasn’t had a trip to the Arabian Peninsula yet. Nonetheless, WWE made an announcement a few weeks ago and revealed their next big event in Saudi Arabia. The company officially named the PLE as King and Queen of the Ring. Moreover, the exclusive event will take place in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 27, 2023.
According to a report from Xero News, WWE is likely to change the name of the premium live event taking place in Saudi Arabia. It states that the “King and Queen of the Ring” could be renamed “Night of Champions.” WWE has always revolved around royal and palatial themes for its shows in Saudi Arabia. However, this year it appears to have a slight deviation from that.
Xero News reported that Roman Reigns’ 1000-day celebration could possibly be the reason behind the name’s change. The Tribal Chief has been one of the longest-reigning champions in the modern era. Ever since winning the title, he has been transcending records and legacies. However, Roman Reigns is just a few days away from inscribing his name in the pages of history by surpassing the 1000-day mark.
Therefore, WWE is looking to have a grand celebration while he achieves this unfathomable feat. As a result, the company is considering renaming the Saudi PLE to Night of Champions. It will be to honor The Tribal Chief’s unprecedented title reign in the grandest fashion.

WWE’s last show in Saudi Arabia
Over the years, WWE has been holding exclusive events for fans in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the company gets an overwhelming reception from the fans there. Not only does WWE get massive support from the fans, but it also earns a huge sum of money from organizing shows in the Arabian Peninsula. Besides, Crown Jewel was the last premium live event that WWE held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The event took place in Mrsool Park, Riyadh, on November 5, 2022. There were eight matches on the card for the event. From an epic bout between Lesnar and Lashley to Bianca Belair and Bayley’s last woman-standing match, fans enjoyed the show to the fullest. However, Roman Reigns and Logan Paul headlined the main event of the show in an epic showdown.
