“He’s the one to beat Gunther,” WWE Universe overjoyed as former Royal Rumble winner returns after 5 months

Ever since his main roster debut, Shinsuke Nakamura has been projected as the next big thing in WWE. However, the Japanese wrestler has seen many ups and downs throughout his WWE career. He even won the Royal Rumble in 2018 to challenge for the WWE title at WrestleMania 34. However, he failed to capture the title and his momentum eventually died down, and he became a mid-carder. As Shinsuke Nakamura has been on a hiatus, fans were anticipating his return.

In November last year, Shinsuke Nakamura was defeated by Santos Escobar in the first round of the SmackDown World cup. Nakamura was representing his country, Japan but couldn’t even make it to the second round. Ever since that loss, Shinsuke has been away from WWE for over five months, missing the big events such as Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 39.

On SmackDown this week, The King of Strong Style was set to make his grand return to the WWE. The crowd erupted with a huge applause, as they were excited to see Shinsuke back in the ring. Moreover, his brand-new WWE run kicked off with a match against Madcap Moss.

Madcap was accompanied to the ring by Emma and was seemingly confident heading into the bout. However, The King of Strong Style showcased his impeccable in-ring skills and eventually captured the victory.

Considering the presentation, it seems WWE has planned something big for Nakamura as he is ready for another run with the company. Hence, it remains to be seen how Shinsuke capitalizes on his current momentum and whether he climbs up the ranks to become a legitimate star on the main roster.
