Hell froze over as, when it looked like nothing could surprise the WWE Universe, CM Punk finally returned to WWE at Survivor Series after nine long years. This seemed impossible due to the prior relationship between Punk and the company. But now, the WWE Universe has found one man responsible for his return: current AEW wrestler Jack Perry.

Punk returned to professional wrestling after a seven-year hiatus in AEW. At first, everything seemed alright, but after some time, Punk’s behavior and heat with fellow superstars backstage started to worsen. Punk and Perry got involved in a backstage altercation, which led to suspensions for both of the stars. After a few days, Tony Khan revealed that AEW had terminated the Second City Saint’s contract.

The 45-year-old star had a similar well-documented incident before the ‘Jack Perry altercation’. He was involved in the infamous locker room brawl involving Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks. After that, the relationship between him and some of the top superstars of the company got worse. Most notably, Tony Khan felt physically threatened by Punk at All In, which proved to be the last nail in the coffin of the latter’s tenure at the company.

Therefore, WWE fans on social media facetiously thanked Perry for indirectly leading Punk to the Stamford-based promotion. As a result, WWE has seen a significant boost in its program ratings and merchandise sales. WWE is winning the rating wars as of now, while AEW is struggling to keep up as a viable competitor. It will be interesting to see how AEW will progress and return to its initial success.

Fans on social media mock Jack Perry and AEW after CM Punk’s return to WWE

After nine long years, CM Punk is finally back in the WWE. He has made several appearances on shows like Raw and SmackDown, which have so far proved to be a success. Therefore, wrestling fans decided to mock AEW superstar Jack Perry on social media. The majority of the fans feel that if the altercation with Perry hadn’t happened, Punk wouldn’t have returned to WWE.

While some fans mocked Perry by saying he single-handedly changed the whole landscape of the wrestling industry, others don’t find him the main culprit. One fan even referred to him as a ‘National Hero’ due to his involvement in Punk’s WWE return, exactly what many fans wanted for so many years.

Meanwhile, another fan even criticized Punk in this whole situation, claiming that he would repeat the same mistake after some time, considering his behavior and attitude. Fans said it was Tony Khan who put the final nail in the coffin by firing The Best in the World. Overall, it was a pretty one-sided reaction towards Perry, as the fans feel his altercation with Punk finally led to his WWE comeback and the possible downfall of AEW.
