WWE announces 1st-round matches in the tournament to determine the No. 1 contender for Logan Paul’s US Championship

On this week’s SmackDown, Logan Paul made his first WWE appearance since becoming the United States Champion at last month’s Crown Jewel. The Maverick announced that he’s arranged a US title tournament in order to determine who’ll emerge as the No. 1 contender to challenge him for the gold. The participants include Bobby Lashley, Karrion Kross, Santos Escobar, Dragon Lee, Kevin Owens, Grayson Waller, Austin Theory, and a superstar from NXT.

The preliminary round of matches commences next week. As announced during last night’s SmackDown broadcast, Bobby Lashley will take on Karrion Kross. In another one of its kind, Dragon Lee will look to avenge his Survivor Series loss against Santos Escobar. It all takes place in Providence at the Rhode Island. The show will also mark CM Punk’s first SmackDown appearance in almost a decade.

Nonetheless, the mid-card title picture on the blue brand is about to heat up. Though any of the aforementioned names could punch their ticket for a title match against Logan Paul, there’s already a prohibitive favorite who might seal the deal. And that’s none other than Kevin Owens. Last night, when the Social Media Megastar was basking in the disdain of the WWE Universe in Brooklyn, Owens interrupted him.

The Prizefighter reminded Paul that he’s standing in a WWE ring, and that’s KO’s world. Logan then argued that it would take a second for him to knock the teeth out of Kevin if he wanted. But before things escalated, Grayson Waller crashed the party. Owens and Waller battled it out in a gruesome slugfest that eventually went Kevin’s way. However, the French-Canadian seemingly picked up an arm injury and might be in kayfabe.

As Logan Paul keeps adding to his affluent repertoire, The Maverick is receiving the adulation of WWE legends. One such name who recently praised Paul for his growing stature is The Undertaker.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Phenom regarded Logan Paul as an incredible athlete. Taker recalled his brief interaction with Logan during WrestleMania 39.

Dude, I tell you what, it's amazing guys like him, obviously incredibly athletic. It's not easy to get in and have matches of that caliber that quickly. I think a little more work in the storytelling department.

The Deadman just advised Logan to put in some work in his storytelling. Apart from that, Undertaker was full of admiration for the performances the 28-year-old mainstream sensation has been putting on.
