Cody Rhodes is undeniably one of the top babyfaces right now in WWE. The American Nightmare is rumored to be getting ready to ‘finish his story’ in a second encounter with The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for his Undisputed Championship. But WWE veteran Tommy Dreamer is concerned that his extreme babyface attitude can result in fans turning on him like they once did on John Cena.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dreamer stated Cody is “being groomed as the top babyface.” But then he showed his worries that the chosen face of the company may get the fans to turn on him even before he achieves his goal. Tommy stated this to be the ‘John Cena Effect’ as he used to get booed for being extra nice. The “Cena sucks” chants went popular during those times, while Cena became the epitome of those needless extreme babyface stars.

Cody’s babyface attitude is also justified by his sheer presence in the Stamford-based company. As he is the only superstar who has jumped guns from AEW to WWE. The American Nightmare’s return at WrestleMania 38 was greeted by one of the loudest pops. That very match began a feud between him and Seth Rollins, with Cody winning all their matches. Their rivalry culminated at the Hell in a Cell event with both stars’ absolute epic performances.

Cody’s recent feud with Brock Lesnar is also seeing its culmination at SummerSlam. The tied scenario of Cody and Brock has seen their wins at Backlash and Night of Champions, respectively. While the decisive match at SummerSlam is set to take place in a few weeks, a stipulation hopefully seems to be getting added to raise the stakes for the hard-hitting rivalry.

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes made his victorious return at the Royal Rumble this year. Having faced Seth Rollins in a ferocious match last year at Hell in a Cell, his Rumble win made him eligible for a shot at Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.

Cody marked his presence on Instinct Culture and talked about how his former rivals Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have brought out the best in him. Rhodes stated his urge to fight the very best; hence, his every feud has been momentous in WWE. Cody stated that Rollins is one of the top three, while Roman being the very best uplifts him.

Rhodes’ recent feud with Brock Lesnar has raised his endurance, as The Beast’s constant attacks have given him an ample amount of beating. Rhodes and Lesnar have their rivalry tied up, with both winning one match each in their previous two encounters. Their final bout at SummerSlam will determine who emerges victorious in the feud.
