Xavier Woods is one of the WWE’s most underappreciated wrestlers. People have seen what he can bring to the organization and the universe, but he has not been pushed to his maximum potential. He is not only the only New Day member who has not won the WWE World Championship, but he is also the only member of the faction to have won the King of the Ring competition.

Xavier Woods has mentioned that he has many matchups in mind that he would like to have. Last year, one of these bouts was revealed, and at that time the Retribution faction was at its peak. Despite the fact that the faction disbanded after a while, one of its members has reappeared.

Mia Yim was known as the Reckoning at the time, and Xavier intended to fight her. After several years in the organization, we finally saw an intergender bout on the most recent Raw. Rhea Ripley faced Akira Tozawa in the bout, which was highly received by the spectators as Rhea won easily.

Xavier Woods commented on Twitter regarding this match, asking everybody if he was going to get a match against Reckoning now or not. His tweet read, “Hold on. Wait. So do I finally get to finish out the series against #Retribution?!?!? DO I FINALLY GET TO FACE RECKONING?!?”

The New Day made history when Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston joined NXT in 2022. They both competed for the title of NXT Tag Team Champions against ‘Pretty Deadly’. The two teams had a terrific bout at NXT Deadline, but the more experienced team won in the end.

This was a historic victory because it crowned The New Day as the second Grand Slam Tag Team Champions in WWE. Everyone was thrilled for them, but the biggest concern that arose following their victory was where they would be working. Are they going to be in NXT now, or will they be on SmackDown?

Shawn Michaels answered this question during the press conference, revealing that the squad will make appearances on both brands. This was a risky move on WWE’s behalf since it would have elicited a lot of negative emotions, but New Day managed to handle the situation pretty well.
