After the shocking betrayal on last week’s SmackDown, all eyes were on Santos Escobar this week. While Escobar was leaving the building, he answered some of the hot questions. He was asked about his reaction to Zelina Vega‘s heartbreak after he attacked Rey Mysterio. The 39-year-old boldly replied, saying Vega was lucky to hang out with him for a while.

Zelina Vega responded to this on X, shedding light on some past stories between the two. She revealed that it was Santos Escobar who came to her to get an update on the main roster. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion also went on to say that she is the reason for the former Legado del Fantasma leader being on SmackDown.

Santos Escobar debuted on SmackDown alongside Zelina Vega when she returned to the company. The two stars, along with their Legado del Fantasma pals, were later joined by Rey Mysterio. The legendary luchador took them under his tutelage and reformed the LWO. However, last week everything came to an end with Santos Escobar’s betrayal.

This feud has become more personal than ever. Santos Escobar is all set to face Carlito at Survivor Series. Zelina Vega was heartbroken, resulting in her slapping Escobar on SmackDown, adding fuel to the anger of the former Cruiserweight Champion. It is going to be interesting to see Vega’s role in this LWO turmoil.

WWE reportedly have massive plans for LWO

After the vicious attack by Santos Escobar, the fate of LWO is in a precarious state. Rey Mysterio, who was considered the leader of the group, was sidelined by the 39-year-old. As of now, the group has lost two of its members. However, according to recent reports, WWE has some huge plans for the faction in the coming weeks.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is planning to have a Group vs. Group situation among the faction. One group will be led by Mysterio, while another group will be led by Santos Escobar. Reports are that Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro will side with Santos Escobar. On the other hand, Carlito will soon join the legendary luchador.

It’s gonna be group vs group. It’s gonna be Santos and some partners vs Rey with partners. I don’t know what they’re going to do with the LWO name, which side gets it. Maybe they’re even going to feud over the name, I don’t know.

Furthermore, the report suggests that the groups might also go back and forth over the legacy of the name LWO. As per some other rumors, NXT superstars Angel Garza and Carillo might receive a call-up to the main roster to join sides with Santos Escobar soon.
