Wrestling world reacts to the release of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black and other WWE Superstars

Braun Strowman and Aleister Black were recently released from WWE

Braun Strowman and Aleister Black were two brands, who were in the main-event scene of their brands – Raw and Smackdown respectively. But their stint with WWE came to an abrupt end. It is being speculated that WWE is gearing up for a sale, hence, they are trying to increase their profitability.

Reportedly, Braun Strowman, who had an annual contract of $1.2 million, was released due to his heavy paycheck. Vince McMahon felt that Strowman was getting way more for a wrestler for a who has passed his prime. Additionally, presence of other giants on the roster – Omos, Commander Azeez and Shanky also led to Strowman’s release.

John Laurinaitis had sent a message to the entire roster, informing them about the releases, and the reason for the same. “Due to Budget cuts the following talent were released today. Braun Strowman, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Santana Garrett, Ruby Riott, and Aleister Black. – John Laurinaitis”

In addition to Strowman and Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Buddy Murphy and Santana Garrett were released from the company too.

The releases shocked the entire wrestling world, and several Superstars took to Twitter to share their disbelief. Former Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks took to Twitter to send love to Ruby Riott.

Bayley too mentioned that how caring and loving Ruby Riott is.

Two of the tag team partners of Seth Rollins – Buddy Murphy and Braun Strowman. He had Tag Team Championship stints with both of them. Even he mentioned that it was a heartbreaking day for him.

Alexa Bliss, who had teamed up with Braun Strowman on numerous occasions, also took to Twitter to react to the news of Monster Among Men’s release.

CM Punk too took to Twitter to hint that even he thinks that WWE is gearing up for a sale.

Nia Jax, who was involved in a “table-crashing” feud with Lana also wrote on Twitter that Lana had put through her a table, with a heartbreak emoji.

Lana’s husband Miro (formerly known as Rusev) also took a shot at WWE, for releasing his wife from the company.

ECW legend Tommy Dreamer revealed to Busted Open Radio that he was shocked that WWE decided to release such talented individuals.
