Rey Mysterio to star in the new CN Animated Series
Rey Mysterio, a publicly recognised and loved WWE superstar, previewed significant news previously this week that would revolutionize the history of, well, Rey Mysterio. The revelation verifies a program that Mysterio has been working on for some time. Rey Mysterio vs. La Oscuridad, an animated series produced by Mysterio and studio Viva Calavera! for Cartoon Network Latin America, was unveiled yesterday afternoon in a press statement.
The Skull Brothers spoke up about the Animated Series
Rey Mysterio vs. La Oscuridad (which translates to The Darkness) will feature Mysterio and a wrestling enthusiast named Oscar (who happens to be Mysterio’s forename) as they face the powers of darkness, both in the arena and in the otherworldly. Their main antagonist will be Uroboros, an evil warrior who, according to the press statement, uses dark energies he doesn’t comprehend.
“It’s a dream come true to have an action-comedy series on Cartoon Network. It’s incredible that it not only puts Mexico and Lucha Libre front and centre but also features Rey Mysterio, whom we’ve idolised since we were kids. We anticipate that viewers will adore this new series, which is the culmination of a number of hard work and enthusiasm from a lot of people “Added the Skull Brothers, the studio’s founders, Viva Calavera!
A tweet by COMICBOOK also confirmed the same:
According to the press announcement, the ten-episode show will premiere on Cartoon Network Latin America in 2022. Despite the fact that Mysterio serves for WWE, the promotion was not mentioned in the press statement, implying that they are not involved in the production. At this point, Mysterio is still yet to respond.
