Ricochet has been one of the finest WWE superstars of the current generation. Ricochet gained a lot of experience before joining the WWE by wrestling in various wrestling promotions. He began his wrestling career in 2003 at the age of 15 under the ring name Ricochet.
The WWE Superstar has been a high-flying wrestler since his wrestling debut. He wrestled around the independent circuit for three years before making his debut at Chikara. Ricochet wrestled in the promotion until 2010.
After leaving Chikara, he wrestled at Evolve, Dragon Gate USA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and Dragon Gate. He held the PWG World Championship once during his time at the promotion. Ricochet was also a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Lucha Underground from 2013 to 2017. He has been the Lucha Underground Champion twice during his time at the promotion.
Ever since his debut, he has been fighting under the ring name “Ricochet,” but his real name is Trevor Dean Mann. Mann made his WWE debut in 2018 on the NXT Brand. He is known to have gathered a considerable crowd at several live shows during his time at the brand.
Mann became NXT North American Champion once during his time with the brand. He made his main roster debut in 2019 and has since won the Intercontinental Championship and the US Championship once. He also got an opportunity to fight for the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar at Super ShowDown 2020 but failed to win.

Ricochet revealed the origin of his ring name
Having used the ring name “Ricochet” since he began wrestling, he was allowed to use it in the WWE. Back in 2018, during an interview with the Miami Herald, the high-flying wrestler revealed the origins of his ring name. He stated that he had already trademarked his in-ring name in the wrestling world. The high-flying WWE superstar stated that everything fell into place because WWE liked and accepted his name.
Ricochet stated that he had a list of names that he wanted to use, and Ricochet happened to be one of them. He also stated that he wanted real names like Johnny Gargano, John Cena, and Adam Cole, but that didn’t happen. He said that during his first match, the promotion came up with some random names, which were bad, and he never wanted a bad name.
“Within the wrestling world, it hadn’t been trademarked; so, I had it actually trademarked. They were like, OK, well, that’s cool. You can just keep it……When it came down to the time me and my two friends…our first match was that day, and we really didn’t have names, yet. They just came up with some random ones – for the two of them – on the spot, and they were really, really, really bad names, and I didn’t want to have a bad name.”
Ricochet was initially dating WWE superstar Katana Chance. The two dated for several years before breaking up in 2021. He is currently dating the ring announcer Samantha Irvin. Both have children from previous relationships. While Ricochet has a son, Irvin has a daughter.
