Reigns took a break from WWE back in early 2020 when he was on a paternal leave. But the went home for a break and the day he returned saw two very different scenarios. When Reigns left for the leave the world had not been conquered by COVID-19 but when he came back, WWE had made some strict protocols regarding the same. This included the restriction that the fans couldn’t attend the shows which was a huge setback for everyone.

WWE left no stone unturned to entertain the fans in the COVID era. They brought up some dream matches, worked day and night in the hard times and finalized many locations for the weekly Raw and SmackDown tapings. But the company could get its stars only at two locations. One was their own Performance Center and the other was the Thunderdome.

COVID-19 forced Raw and Smackdown to be taped in the Performance Center

Roman Reigns was not seen in WWE when Raw and Smackdown were being taped in the Performance Center which was the early stage of the COVID-19 era. The shows were not earning the amount of viewership they earned earlier than that which brought a lot of disrespect for the company. Roman Reigns also took a huge blast at Vince McMahon and the company following that. Here’s what he said:

“Yeah, I watched a couple of the shows. I did not follow it thoroughly. I tried to use as much of the time to be with my family and just really focus in and be present here at home. On a few of the shows that I saw, I was just like, ‘Man, this is trash.’ Like, you know what I mean? That’s from me, from the very top, thinking this because I always want to be way better than everybody else. This is no disrespect to what they were doing. They were busting their ass working really hard.” – Roman Reigns spoke to the Fox Network.
