Seth Rollins planned to main event one night of WrestleMania – Reports
Seth Rollins
The Visionary Seth Rollins is currently one of the most exciting gimmicks from the whole roster. The former Universal Champion has been one of the biggest reasons for the ratings of Monday Night Raw. The Visionary has proved himself to be one of the most successful superstars in WWE history but with his current gimmick, he is unmatchable.
Rollins was originally the No.1 contender for Big E’s WWE Championship but soon, his singles opportunity turned into a fatal 4-way match for WWE Day 1. This took a huge turn when Brock Lesnar was added to the match at the last minute possible because Roman Reigns had tested COVID positive. The fatal 5-way match at Day 1 then saw Lesnar pin Big E and win the WWE Championship. But Seth Rollins’ days of glory are still not over.
As per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plans of Seth Rollins main eventing one night of WrestleMania will happen anyway. The report further said that Rollins will face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania which will likely be among Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens, and Big E. Here’s what the report said:
“Because there are two nights of WrestleMania, they need a WWE title match to headline the other show. The plan for that was originally Seth Rollins, likely against the winner of the Royal Rumble, with Big E the favorite, but Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley were also possibilities. The match in that position may remain the same, but getting there is different”
With Brock Lesnar as the WWE Champion, what changes could take place in the plans for Seth Rollins?
Brock Lesnar will be challenged by Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Plans for Brock Lesnar facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania are also being worked upon heavily. This could lead to Bobby Lashley defeating Lesnar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Rollins could be determined by the next challenger for the WWE Championship by winning either the Royal Rumble match or the Elimination Chamber match this year. Rollins could be the likely winner of either of the matches to determine himself as the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship and headline WrestleMania.
