WWE Smackdown results – 19/03/2021 (Edge faces Jey Uso, final episode before WWE Fastlane)

The episode of WWE Smackdown kicked off with a backstage argument between Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. Bianca asked that was Sasha’s plan for her match, and Belair clarified that she wont be coming out to save Banks.

Sasha Banks def. Nia Jax (retains WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship)

They stated that Reginald was at a spa getting ready for Nia’s Championship win’s celebration. Sasha began with a baseball slide, which took out Baszler, and then she stomped on Nia. Banks went for a Banks Statement but Nia elbowed her.

Nia lifted Sasha up gorilla press slammed her. She went for the cover but Sasha kicked out. She lifted Sasha up and hit a Samoan drop. She went for the cover but Sasha kicked out again. Bianca’s music hits and out she comes and checks on Banks.

Sasha climbed on Nia’s shoulders and she went for the Banks Statement, Nia tried to reverse it but a DDT by Sasha. The Banks Statement by Sasha. Shayna and Bianca fought into the ring and with the referee distracted, Shayna went to kick Sasha. But Sasha moved and she accidentally kicked Nia. Sasha went for the cover and got the pin.

Seth Rollins’ segment

Rollins mentioned that he recently came back on Smackdown. The entire roster came to the ringside out of respect for him. But when they turned their backs, Rollins respected their decision to be idiots. But one person took it too far – Cesaro. Rollins realized that Cesaro is jealous of him.

Cesaro is a failure, while Rollins is a Wrestlemania main-eventer. He called Cesaro the biggest waste of potential. Shinsuke Nakamura walked out.

Rollins asked Nakamura to stay away. He tried to attack, but Nakamura hit a spinning kick, followed by a Kinshasa.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio def. The Street Profits

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode were on commentary. Dominik and Ford were in the ring. An arm drag by Ford was followed by an arm drag by Dominik. Both men shook hands in the ring but Ford kicked.

Ford went for a back drop but Dominik landed on his feet and tagged Rey in. Rey hit a drop kick. He went for the cover but Ford kicked out. Dawkins was tagged in as The Street Profits tried double teaming Dominik but Rey broke it up as Dominik got the roll up on Dawkins for the win.

Gable and Otis came out and challenged The Mysterios. The father-son duo dropkicked them to the outside.

Otis and Gable def. Rey and Dominik Mysterio

Gable went for a suplex off the top rope but Rey knocked Gable down. He threw Gable down onto the second rope and landed the 619 and Dominik knocked Otis off the top rope.

Otis tagged in and a bodyslam took Rey down. Otis stomped on him and he slammed Rey into the turnbuckle. Otis with a bearhug in the middle of the ring but Rey bit Otis.

Gable and Dominik are tagged in. Gable with a German suplex. Otis was tagged in with a flying splash off the second rope. He went for the cover and got the pin.

Daniel Bryan’s segment

Bryan hyped up the main event match between Edge and Jey Uso. He knew that if Uso won the match then he would do everything in his power to ensure that Reigns retained his title. But Edge is the Ultimate Opportunist. He would do anything to get what he wants, and that was a match against Reigns.

But Edge thinks he can beat Reigns, whereas Bryan knows that he can beat Reigns. He will prove it at Fastlane when he makes Roman Reigns tap out. The Universal Champion walked out with Paul Heyman.

Reigns said that he could deal with Bryan’s ambitious lies but not the lies about himself. Bryan had a better chance of shooting lighting out of his a** than making Reigns tap out. He has never tapped out in his career. Reigns would rather die than to tap out to a man like Bryan.

Bryan said that he wont just make Reigns tap out, but break him completely.

King Corbin def. Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens was on commentary for the match. Sami went for a right hand but Corbin ducked and hit him with a clothesline. Corbin went for a spear in the corner but Sami moved out of the way. Sami went for the cover as he put his legs on the ropes for leverage but the referee saw it.

Sami tried to undo the top turnbuckle as the referee stopped him. Corbin hit him the End of Days for the win.

Sami argued with Owens and attacked him. He said he is not crazy but Owens was blind.

Shayna Baszler def. Bianca Belair

Banks made her way to the ring then told Belair that she would be watching from backstage. As the match began, Belair tripped up Baszler. Nia walked away to the back too. Baszler was distracted as Belair hit a spinebuster.

Natalya and Tamina attacked Shayna Baszler as the referee called for the bell. They attacked Bianca too.

Edge def. Jey Uso (will be special ringside enforcer for WWE Universal Championship match at Fastlane)

Daniel Bryan was on commentary. Edge started with a takedown cover, but Uso kicked out. He went for a cover, but Uso moved out of the way. A knee to the face by Edge took Jey down.

An arm bar by Edge but Jey with an elbow to the body. Edge rolled out of the ring holding his ribs. Jey followed him to the outside and pushed Edge into the steel steps. Jey got back in the ring and landed a suicide dive.

Jey grabbed Edge and threw him ribs first into the ring post. He climbed the top rope and jumped but Edge moved out of the way. Both men ran to the ropes and collided in the middle of the ring.

Edge threw Jey face first into the turnbuckle. Jey pushed Edge onto the ropes and hit him with a Samoan drop. Edge countered with a hurricanrana off the top rope. He followed with a jumping DDT.

Jey grabbed Edge but Edge slammed Jey onto the mat. He got up and Edge hit him with the spear. He went for the cover and got the pin.

Roman Reigns hit Edge with the Spear after the match. He told Bryan to tap him out. Bryan got up from the commentary table, but Uso attacked him from behind. Uso threw Bryan into the ring and Reigns speared him as the show ended.
