EC3 was one of the many superstars who had been laid off by WWE, earlier this year. He claimed that WWE had ripped off his idea from the video, “The Narrative” Cinematic Wrestling Video, which he had posted on his YouTube channel. EC3 had released the video, right after the completion of his 90-day non-compete clause.

While appearing on ROH’s Strong podcast, that when he was NXT, he had pitched the exact same idea, for the narrative of his character.

When EC3 had sent his idea to the creative, he knew that WWE would steal parts of his idea. But the fact that WWE completely ripped-off his idea, was what shocked him.

Shane McMahon at RAW Underground

“This stuff was inauthentic and had no heart”, was EC3’s reaction when he saw Shane McMahon hosting the Raw Underground. He explained that while his idea was a much more authentic, McMahon’s version looked manufactured and studio-like with no real feel to it.

The ROH wrestler claimed to have pitched the fight-club like idea to the creative at WWE. He had even sent a promotional video for the same to them. EC3 claimed that it was fairly easy for WWE to steal his idea, due to the massive audience that they have. His video was watched by a selected few, while WWE has millions of daily followers.

EC3 has recently debuted for ROH, on ROH TV. His first on-air appearance had him challenge the entire roster.

WWE introduced Raw Underground in August. But it hasn’t been a part of the Monday night Raw episodes since the last couple of weeks. Reportedly, WWE has decided to discontinue with fight-club like segment.
